The Nike Huarache ‘Hyperlocal London’ releases on 29/05
‘Have you hugged your foot today?’ That’s the question that was asked when the Nike Air Huarache first released in 1991. A staple of British trainer culture for many years, the Huarache has come back in a big way in 2021, with Nike seemingly pushing the model once again.
Up next from the Swoosh in a series of Huaraches that have released in the first half of 2021 is a triple black colourway dubbed the ‘Hyperlocal London.’ So called because of the impact that the kick has had in the UK capital, this silhouette will be instantly recognisable to many Londoners. All in black, this version of the Huarache features a base made from a knit material. Meanwhile neoprene makes it onto the sneaker’s tongue and collar. To augment these elements a synthetic pebbled leather overlay is present. Finally the shoe is complete with its signature plastic strap towards the rear and the all black soles that make it perfect for wear in the UK. It is a shoe made for British sneakerheads and it certainly won’t be surprising if it gains a lot of traction in the region.
